Termination of employee contract

How DAS Law can help

Entering exit discussions with employees is stressful for everyone involved. Achieving a ‘clean break’ can help both parties to focus on the future.

Our highly experienced team of over 30 employment lawyers can support you through the process of negotiating termination arrangements with your employees.

Some of the possible outcomes we can achieve for you

  • Advise on the exit negotiation process and terms and conditions of settlement agreements.
  • Advise on the taxation of termination payments.
  • Representation and guidance should the employee take their case to an employment tribunal.
  • Here are some important things you should be aware of regarding settlement agreements.

    • Our lawyers are highly experienced in handling many types of disputes with employees and negotiating terms to ensure that your business is protected in the future.
    • No part of the settlement agreement is binding until it has been signed by all parties. This protects you as an employer should you discover new information during the negotiation period e.g. the employee is stealing from your company.

    How much will it cost?

If you would like DAS Law to help you terminate an employee’s contract, there are a number of ways of funding your legal costs, including:

    Legal Expenses Insurance (LEI)

If you have a commercial insurance policy which includes Legal Expenses Insurance (LEI) cover, your legal costs may be covered by your policy (subject to the terms and conditions of the policy). If you are unsure if your insurance policy includes LEI cover, we will check this with you.

    Commercial LEI

    No Legal Expenses Insurance

If you do not have this cover we offer fixed fees and discounted hourly rates. Our employment law specialists will be happy to explain these options to you.
